I have suffered with gut issues for over 7 years and have had numerous flare-ups which were always treated with steroids. Unfortunately I have never found the steroids or my other medication to be very effective for me.
I joined a local gym which gave me some much needed energy but I found that I could not go to the gym as regularly as I liked due to the embarrassing symptoms associated with this disease. During one of my gym sessions it was suggested to me that getting some nutritional advice maybe beneficial for me. I went along to my first session with Helen feeling very fed up with my health and determined to do whatever was asked of me to get myself back on track. I was put on a wheat and dairy free diet for 2 months and advised to take a range of natural remedies to help my digestive disorder. Within only 3 weeks I was really feeling the benefits of my new diet. I no longer felt bloated and my bowel movements are regular for the first time in many years. I have more energy and friends and family have all commented on how well I look. Recently I had a routine colonoscopy and I was informed that my colon was ‘almost normal’. The results have been fantastic and very little effort was required from me.

I had been suffering from low energy for 3 years before I went to see Helen. I had tried everything that anyone had recommended including seeing a homeopath, acupuncture, seeing my GP and specialists. I was following all the advice given in the M.E. books about pacing and whilst this helped me manage the condition it didn’t help it improve.
Helen was the first professional who not only took my condition seriously but was actually able to come up with a plan for how to improve things for me. She put together diet plans for me which helped me balance my sugar levels and thereby stabilising my energy levels. I did the “ONE” test and this really helped identify where my body was struggling and diet plans helped to readdress the things that had become seriously out of balance. This was the only test in 3 years that actually showed how much my body was out of synch.
Helen was able to explain clearly to me a lot of complicated and detailed information. She was also brilliant at really listening to me and understanding how I was feeling. This was so valuable to me.
I learnt a great deal during my sessions with Helen, not only about my illness but nutritional information that will always be helpful to me.
I think that dealing with M.E. needs a multi pronged approach and my sessions with Helen were certainly an important part of my recovery.
